Bengal Tigers, Pahari Painting & Indian Architecture

Indian heritage carries a deep-rooted association with royalty and divinity of form, voiced through its ornate architecture, richly detailed art, and majestic native wildlife.

The warmth of red sandstone, the rhythmic interplay of hand-carved arches, and floral sculptural motifs reference the Mughal architecture of Lal-Qila, the Red Fort of Agra.

Adorning this architectural backdrop is a painting in the traditional Pahari style, a confluence of Indian folk art, Mughal miniature art, and Rajhastani art originating from the Himalayan foothills in India between the 17th and 18th centuries. This painting depicts Radha and Krishna, the divine couple revered throughout Indian literature and religion.

Balancing these classical representations of royalty and mark-making sit a pair of Bengal tigers, exuding effortless elegance, both wild and regal.

The triptych of Indian majesty merges colour, pattern, and life, a visual ode to the royals of India.
